It is hard to find a small slow feeder to keep in the trailer or show stall. These feeders are very well made, not cheap material. I am happy with the quality and price.
We built two trough feeders and wanted to put a net over the top so that the hay stays in the trough.
My young gelding can and will destroy anything you leave with him overnight - from the cheap plastic haynets to top end grazer feeding barrels.
Yet this hay net has survived and is keeping him entertained longer. I went with the 2cm holes and was slightly concerned he would get frustrated from the smaller hole size but this has been the best decision.
I've gone from 5 biscuits (most of which were mixed into his bed by morning) to 3 biscuits and no waste.
My only slight gripe is the metal clips. They do get stuck on the net fibres when closing the net. I also had to hang the net higher than I would have liked due to the metal clips clanging on the wall all night as my boy eats.
Excellent for my easy keepers and metabolic ones, keeps them fed all night while controlling intake. An important part of my spring management and laminitis prevention.
